PVA methods using bags or mesh
How long will the PVA bag or mesh stick method continue catching carp? Will they ever grow wary and spook to the method?
PVA methods are here to stay as their is no better way to induce feeding and trick them into taking the hookbait, however there are a number of improvements that can be made that just may result in a extra pick up. The stick method helps hide the rig and hook bait from the carps prying eyes and does help put the extra fish on the bank.
The bag on weed PVA method was developed a few years ago but not really exploited by the majority of anglers, at present I am gently sitting bags on top of weed beds using a PVA mesh or bag that has the pop up rig threaded through it. By using small bouyant ingredients in a base mix and placing the lot in a bag a situation can be created whereupon the bags gently sits on the weed and the hookbait ontop of the feed. A long hookling slightly longer than the depth of the weed is best.
Simply place the bouyant mix in a bag, secure the bag with PVA string, thread your rig through re-attach and your ready to fish on top of weed effectively.
