When I think of private lakes I am generally looking at a drive and survive and paying on arival, although some lake owners do accept reservations and some UK carp fishing agencies take reservations for them.

Etang 5

Ive fished etang 5 for over 15 years and believe I was the first English angler to wet a carp line in its waters, at least I didnt come accross any others at the venue during the early years. Initially the lake contained many carp between between 15 -25 lb, however they have grown and now the lake contains a good head of carp over 40lb with a couple well over the 70 lb mark That said it is full of weed, a boat is needed to land most carp and is now more difficult, many anglers return home fishless after a week session. For those that persevere, Etang 5 holds some big carp.

Lac Terte - Belgium

Lac Terte is a deep lake of approximately 50 acres and depths to 50 ft, literally one step of the bank takes you into 30 ft of water, therefore dont wear waders! That said it also contains fish to over 70 lb and loads of 40s. It is privately owned and on my last visit a week session would cost 100 euro (prices may have gone up since then).
